The patient, woman, of 39 years old applied to the dental clinic with complaints about missing teeth.

From the patient’s anamnesis: teeth were removed or а had fallen out themselves starting from adolescence. All teeth were affected by rapidly developing caries. By the age of 30, all the teeth were lost in the lower jaw, and partially on the upper jaw. The basal implants were installed on the lower jaw due to the lack of conditions for dental implants. The patient was diagnosed with DS vitamin D deficiency.

The evaluation of tooth condition: failure of orthopedic structures, failure of teeth on the upper jaw (11, 12, 13, 17, 21, 22, 23, 24, 27), extreme atrophy of the upper jaw in the area of premolars and molars.

The patient was offered to choose the way of treatment:

  1. The rehabilitation of the upper jaw using bilateral sinus lift and increasing in the frontal part of the height and width of the alveolar process. The term of treatment varies from one to two years. There was a risk of complications of rejection of a large amount of bone tissue because of vitamin D deficiency.
  2. The rehabilitation of the upper jaw using zygomatic implants (Nobel Zygoma) and simultaneous prosthetics. The risk of complications was also present.

After much consideration, the patient chose the second way of treatment. The choice of a patient was based solely on the favor of Zygoma implants. The following considerations were also instrumental in the choice: minimum terms for obtaining the result and financial component.
